Stefanie Dimmeler among Highly Cited Researchers 2023

Of the nearly 7000 most cited scientists in the world, seven conduct research at Goethe University Frankfurt. This is according to the current citation ranking of the „Web of Science“ of the company Clarivate Analytics.

In most cases, it is particularly fundamental scientific findings that lead to a contribution being frequently cited by other scientists. This citation frequency is therefore an indicator of the scientific significance of the published articles as well as the visibility of the scientific authors in the scientific community.

Once a year, the information and technology company Clarivate Analytics evaluates its „Web of Science“ citation database and publishes the „Highly Cited Researchers“ ranking.

The current ranking includes 6849 scientists in no particular order, who between 2021 and 2022 belonged to the one percent whose scientific papers in the natural sciences, engineering, medicine, and in the categories „Economics and Business“ and „Social Sciences“ were cited most often, within their own category or in different subjects („cross-field“).

Prof. Dr. Stefanie Dimmeler / Director of the Institute of Cardiovascular Regeneration at Goethe University / Institute of Molecular Medicine / German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK) / Spokesperson of the Cluster of Excellence Cardio-Pulmonary Institute (CPI) of Goethe University, University of Giessen and Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in the category „Cross Field“.
